Naga Parbat (Killer Mountain)

- Nanga Parbet means “Naked Mountain” in Urdu.
- The Rupal Face on its south flank is the world’s tallest face, rising 15,000 feet from base to summit.
- First attempt was in 1895 by Alfred Mummery’s group, which reached 6,100 meters up the Diamir Face.
Gasherbrum I

- Gasherbrum is Balti for “Beautiful Mountain;” rgasha beautiful brum mountain. It’s also called Hidden Peak. It was first named K5 by T.G. Montgomerie on an 1856 survey.
- Located in Pakistan’s Karakoram Range, one of the world’s most remote regions, and almost 1,000 miles west of the Himalayas.
Broad Peak
Elevation: 26,400 feet (8,047 meters)
Location: Pakistan/China, Asia
First Ascent: Hermann Buhl, Kurt Diemberger, Marcus Schmuck, and Fritz Wintersteller (Austria), June 9, 1957
- Broad Peak has no known local name. Some who wanted an indigenous name, translated Broad Peak from English into Balti, naming it P'alchan Kangri Ri.
- T.G. Montgomerie named it K3 during an 1856 survey. Later explorer W.M. Conway called it Broad Peak for its mile-long summit ridge.
- Broad Peak is located above the Baltoro Glacier in the remote Karakoram Range of northwestern Pakistan. It’s five miles from K2
Gasherbrum II

- Gasherbrum is Balti for “Beautiful Mountain;” rgasha beautiful brum mountain. It was first named K4 by T.G. Montgomerie on an 1856 survey.
- Located in the remote Karakoram Range in northwestern Pakistan.
- Gasherbrum II is not visible from any inhabited place.
